For quite a while now, any appliance I buy sports a sony badge.
Basically anytime I have to buy something electronic, I check if there’s a Sony version of it.

I do this because I trust Sony to deliver good products and to fix stuff should something go wrong.

Kinja'd!!!

Their Vision S announcement yesterday makes me wonder if I should start saving now for when I’ll inevitably get sucked into this.

I quite like the design even though it looks like someone drove an XF into a Taycan

Kinja'd!!!

Even though I don’t like the perspective of owning an autonomous driving EV that has a giant screen for a dashboard. I fear that I’ll just have to have it because Sony.

Kinja'd!!!

Could be worse. I could be standing in line in Apple stores

For some reason it reminds me of the Lucid Air.

The Vizio won’t be nearly as nice.

I like ‘9 0s Sony like I like ‘90s Honda.

Honda seems to be getting their groove back. Maybe I need to check out Sony’s latest.

As cars become more and more just big electronic appliances with electric motors, I wonder how many more traditional electronic companies with enter the space. Will be interesting to see which ones have success. Apple seems to have come and gone. Google is still active in the space with Waymo. Samsung? Facebook? Different goals (hardware sales vs. data collection), but there’s tons of money to be made if a company can crack it.

I wonder what kind of money Tesla makes off their customer data... All major car companies must be doing this by now.

This is what the Model 3 should have been.

It’s a step up in interior and exterior design as compared to Tesla.

Im with you on the Sony loyalty, they are one of the few brands that has never really disappointed me and seems to have consistent quality. My late ‘70s EX1 hifi still gives great performance.

I just wish their phones were better supported in the US, or I might have one now instead of a BlackBerry.

The front end is much better resolved. I wish Tesla would have either gone all-in on the grilleless look, OR added a bit of ornamentation, instead of the halfway blank outline of a grille thing they did on the Model 3.
